About |
|
Wholehearted Writers, LLC, is a small organization with a big dream: We're working to bring a holistic approach to programming for writers, meeting people where they are in their real messy lives, brains wherever they hang out in the big landscape of neurodiversity, bodies with whatever challenges they may have, and the big range of joys and frustrations that the creative process tends to involve.
We are four colleagues and friends who really, really like each other and the writers we work with, and who want to create inclusive, meaningful experiences for creative people who don't quite find what they're looking for in traditional conference and classroom options—including but not limited to neurodiverse and queer folks like us! |

Varied backgrounds, shared values |
This organization is based in values of:
We believe that writers are whole, complicated, amazing, diverse humans, and that we write, learn, and grow best when we bring our whole selves to the table.
Wholehearted Writers events are about human creativity, connections, struggles, and joys. We will not use generative AI tools in this space, or push them on participants in any way. Let's pause and be human together!
On a similar note: When we invite people to bring their whole selves, that means pain, grief, goofiness, joy, uncertainty, and the mess of it all. Some of our work together may bring up big feelings--all along the spectrum of lovely and gleeful to quite painful and raw--and realizations about ourselves and our writing lives. We believe that this is important work that many creative people crave, especially in community! Although that mostly means we laugh and connect, it's important to note that conversations and exercises about writing can sometimes quite unexpectedly bring up very difficult feelings and realizations. Consider whether you may need access to recovery time and strategies if you choose to attend and something tough does come up.
